In game 2 of the doubleheader, the Indians pounded out 23 hits to take the game in 4 innings with again every player in the lineup collecting a hit.  The hitting leaders for Chesaning were.

Charley Mahan with 4 hits including a double and a grad slam scored 3 runs with 6 rbi

Ava Devereaux 4 hits with 2 doubles and a triple scored 4 runs and 2 rbi

Allison Oakes 4 hits and 3 runs

Ellie DuRussel 3 hits with 3 doubles 3 runs and 4 rbi

Abbey VanHarren, Kylie Florian, and Hannah Cooper get added 2 hits

Ava Devereaux got the win going 4 innings giving up 1 hit 2 runs 0 earned runs 6 strikeouts and 2 walks

”I was very happy with how we played today.  We are a very young team overall and I wasn’t too sure how they would handle the game pressure but we got great pitching tonight from Ellie and Ava that I feel settled everyone down and they could focus on what they needed to do.  It was great being on the softball field again for a game and very excited for the girls to pick up there first 2 wins of the season.”  

The Lady Indians stand at 2-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play and travel to Frankenmuth on Thursday to take on a tough Eagles team.
