Chesaning JV Football defeats Durand 28-22

On September 30 the Chesaning JV Football team defeated Durand 28-22. Adam Woodcock got the scoring started for Chesaning in the 1st quarter with a 4 yard touchdown run. Jordan Nixon tacked on 2 points with the conversion run making the score 8-0 Chesaning. In the 2nd quarter Marvin Motley added another Chesaning score with a 3 yard touchdown run and Motley also rushed in the 2 point conversion play. With the score the Indians took a 16-0 lead into halftime. Durand then came out in the 3rd quarter and scored 2 touchdowns to make the score 16-14 still in favor of Chesaning. Late in the 3rd quarter Max Volk connected with Mikey Clover, who made a great run after the catch to score from 15 yards out. The 2 point conversion attempt  was no good and the score was now Chesaning 22 Durand 14. Midway in the 4th quarter Cal Frasier came up with a big interception for the Chesaning defense and the offense drove the ball 28 yards for the touchdown. The drive was capped off by a 5 yard touchdown pass from Volk to Woodcock. The 2 point conversion attempt was once again no good, making the score 28-14 in favor off the Indians. Durand scored a late touchdown to make the final score Chesaning 28 Durand 22.

Leading the way offensively for the Indians were:

Max Volk was 6 of 13 passing for 52 yards and 2 touchdowns. Volk also had 4 carries for 4 yards.

Marvin Motley had 17 carries for 128 yards and 1 touchdown.

Jordan Nixon had 3 carries for 60 yards. Nixon also caught 2 passes for 19 yards.

Cal Frasier had 6 carries for 23 yards.

Adam Woodcock had 3 carries for 5 yards and 1 touchdown. Woodcock also caught 2 passes for 17 yards and 1 touchdown.

Mikey Clover had 1 reception for 15 yards and a touchdown.

Quinton Everett 1 catch for 2 yards.

Defensively the Indians were led by:

Cal Frasier 13 tackles, 1 interception and 1 forced fumble.

Marvin Motley 13 tackles.

Ethan Hinojosa 6 tackles.

Mikey Clover 4 tackles and 1 forced fumble.

Dakota Obuchowski and Braydn Wendling each had 4 tackles.

Jordan Nixon 3 tackles and 1 forced fumble.

Quinton Everett and Ryan Swartz each had 3 tackles.

Adam Woodcock 2 tackles and 1 forced fumble.

Shane Elrod 2 tackles and 1 fumble recovery.

Max Volk and Bryson Geitman each with 2 tackles.

Ron Cross and Seth Schlicht also had 1 tackle a piece.

With the win the Indians improve to 4-2 on the season.
