Chesaning Varsity Baseball defeated St. Louis 12-5 in Game 1 of a doubleheader. Lucas Powell earned his first varsity win throwing a complete game for the Indians. Powell pitched 7 innings giving up 5 runs (4 earned runs), 6 hits, 1 walk, 3 hit batters and collected 9 strikeouts. At the plate Chesaning had 14 hits, with all the Indian batters collecting at least 1 hit during the game. Tyler Sager led the hitting attack going 3-3 with 2 walks, 2 RBI's and scored 2 runs. Nash Wendling went 2-4 with 1 walk, 2 RBI's and scored 2 runs. Lucas Powell and Nate Marshall both went 2-5 with 2 RBI's and each scored 1 run. Logan Fulk and Rafe Deal both went 1-3 with 2 walks, 1 RBI and each scored 1 run. Zach Marzluft and Eli Escamilla both went 1-4 with 1 walk, 1 RBI and each scored 1 run. Weston Powell also went 1-4 and scored 1 run.
With the win the Indians record improves to 6-5 and 4-2 in the MMAC.
