Chesaning Varsity Baseball and St. Louis tie 5-5 in Game 2 of a doubleheader. Nash Wendling started the game on the mound for the Indians going 3 innings giving up 3 runs (1 earned run) on 2 hits, 2 walks and struck out 1 batter. Weston Powell came in and pitched the next 3+ innings giving up 2 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits, 4 walks and struck out 1 batter. Powell started the 7th inning and walked the first 2 batters of the inning. Eli Escamilla then came in to pitch for the Indians. With runners at 2nd and 3rd and nobody out Escamilla threw a wild pitch allowing St. Louis to score the tying run and leaving the winning run at 3rd base. Escamilla then struck out the batter on the next 3 pitches. So with 1 out and a runner on 3rd base, the next batter hit a fly ball to left field and Lucas Powell caught the ball and fired a strike to catcher Dylan James. James completed the play by tagging the runner out to complete the double play and ending the game in a tie due to darkness.
Tyler Sager had another good game at the plate going 2-3 with 1 walk, 2 RBI's and scored 1 run. Weston Powell went 2-4 with 1 RBI. Nate Marshall went 1-2 with 1 walk. Nash Wendling went 1-2 and scored 1 run. Lucas Powell was 1-3 with 1 walk and scored 2 runs. Logan Fulk went 1-4 with 1 RBI.
The Indians record is now 6-5-1 and 4-2 in the MMAC.
