The Chesaning Varsity Baseball team completed the season opening sweep by defeating Caro in game 2 by a score of 9-5. The Indians once again took the early lead by scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning led by a 2 RBI double by Logan Fulk. Caro answered with 1 run in the top of the 2nd and tied the score at 3 with 2 runs in the top of the 6th inning. The Indians responded by scoring 6 runs in the bottom of the 6th to take a 9-3 lead into the top of the 7th inning. Caro closed the scoring with 2 runs in the top of the 7th making the final score 9-5 in favor of Chesaning. Nash Wendling started the game on the mound and earned the win for the Indians going 6 innings giving up 7 hits, 1 walk and 3 earned runs while striking out 6 batters. Lucas Powell came in for the 7th inning and gave up 2 hits, 2 earned runs and struck out 2 batters.

Nash Wendling 2-3, 1 walk, 1 run, 2 stolen bases and 2 RBI’s

Max Volk 1-3, 1 run and 2 stolen bases

Brady Sager 1-4, 1 run and 2 stolen bases

Tyler Sager 1-4 and 1 RBI.]

Lucas Powell 2 walks, 2 runs and 1 RBI

Adam Woodcock 1 walk and 1 run

With the win the Indians record improves to 2-0.
