The Chesaning Varsity Baseball team lost to Ithaca 10-6 on Tuesday, April 12 at Chesaning. Ithaca jumped out to a 9-0 lead by scoring 1 run in the 1st inning, 6 in the 2nd inning and 1 more in the 3rd inning. Lucas Powell started on the mound and took the loss for the Indians going 1 ⅔ innings giving up 7 earned runs on 5 hits, 2 walks, 3 hit batters and 2 strikeouts. Brady Sager came in for relief and pitched 4 ⅓ innings giving up 2 runs, 1 was earned, on 2 hits, 5 walks and 7 strikeouts. Eli Escamilla closed the game out getting the last 3 outs with one of them by strikeout.
Offensively the Indians were led by Tyler Sager who went 2-2 with 2 walks, 1 RBI and scored 1 run. Logan Fulk went 2-3 with 1 walk and 2 RBI’s. Nash Wendling went 2-4 and scored 3 runs.
With the loss the Indians record falls to 4-1.
