Chesaning and Merrill play to a 12-12 tie in Game 2

Game 2 between the Indians and Vandals was much different than the first game. The first game was a clean well played game and in the second game the Indians were bitten by the error bug. Chesaning took a 1-0 in the top of the 1st inning when Lucas Powell led the inning off with a single and eventually came around to score on a wild pitch. Merrill came back and scored 6 unearned runs on 4 Indian errors to make the score 6-1 in favor of Merrill. The Indians then scored another run in the 2nd inning when Dylan James scored on a single by Powell. Merrill scored 3 more unearned runs in the 2nd due to 2 more errors made by the Indians. After 2 innings the score was Merrill 9 and Chesaning 2. Chesaning then began to play better baseball and mounted a comeback by scoring 6 runs in the top of the 3rd inning to make the score 9-8 in favor of the Vandals. The Indians then got off the field quickly in the bottom of the 3rd inning and scored 2 more runs in the top of the 4th inning to take a 10-9 lead. The Vandals then went 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 4th inning. Chesaning responded by scoring 2 more runs in the top of the 5th inning to make the score 12-9 Chesaning. Unfortunately for the Indians Merrill scored 3 runs with 2 outs in the bottom of the 5th inning and the game was then called due to darkness with the score tied at 12.

Brady Sager started on the mound for the Indians going 4+ innings giving up 8 hits, 10 runs, 1 earned run, 4 walks and struck out 4 batters. Logan Fulk pitched the last inning giving up 3 hits, 2 runs and struck out 1 batter. 

Offensively the Indians were led by:

Lucas Powell 2-3, 1 walk, 1 RBI and scored 2 runs.

Nash Wendling 2-4, 3 RBI’s and scored 1 run.

Brady Sager 2-4, 2 RBI’s and scored 2 runs.

Dylan James 1-2, 1 walk and 1 RBI.

Adam Woodcock 1-1, 2 walks and scored 1 run. 

Eli Escamilla 1-4 and scored 1 run

With the tie, the Indians record stands at 8-1-1 on the season.
