Chesaning defeats Durand 19-0 in Game 1

The Chesaning Indians traveled to Durand on Monday, May 2 and came away with a convincing win 19-0 in the 3 inning mercy rule game. The Indians opened the game by scoring 9 runs in the top of the 1st inning and then added 10 more runs in the 3rd inning. Tyler Sager toed the rubber for Chesaning and pitched the 3 inning game. Sager did not allow a hit, recorded all 9 outs by strikeout and hit 2 batters for Durand’s only base runners in the game. With the win Sager improves his pitching record to 4-0 on the season.

Offensively the Indians were led by:

Nash Wendling 3-3, 4 RBI’s, 1 walk and scored 3 runs.

Eli Escamilla 3-3, 3 RBI’s, 1 walk and scored 3 runs.

Tyler Sager 3-4, 2 RBI’s and scored 2 runs.

Adam Woodcock 1-1, 2 RBI’s, 2 walks and scored 2 runs.

Brady Sager 1-2, 1 RBI, 1 walk and scored 2 runs.

Lucas Powell 1-4, 1 RBI and scored 1 run.

With the win the Indians improve to 9-1-1 and 5-0 in the MMAC.
