Chesaning defeats Durand 15-2 in Game 2

The Chesaning Indians won game 2 of the MMAC tilt against the Durand Railroaders 15-2. The Indians scored 1 run in the 1st inning, 2 in the 2nd, 1 in the 3rd and 3 in the 4th to take a 7-0 lead. Durand got on the board in the bottom of the 6th inning scoring 2 runs on a single, 2 errors and a walk. Chesaning quickly ended thoughts of a comeback by scoring 8 runs in the top of the 7th inning. Nash Wendling took the mound for the Indians and earned the win while pitching 6 innings. Wendling gave up 2 hits, 2 unearned runs, walked 4 batters and struck out 8. With the win Wendling improved his record to 4-0 for the season. Logan Fulk came in for relief in the 7th inning and pitched a 1-2-3 inning while striking out 1 Durand batter.

Offensively the Indians were led by:

Tyler Sager 2-2, 2 RBI’s, 1 walk and scored 1 run.

Eli Escamilla 2-4, 2 RBI’s, 1 walk, and scored 2 runs.

Logan Fulk 2-4, 1 RBI, 1 walk and scored 2 runs.

Lucas Powell 2-5, 3 RBI’s, 1 walk and scored 2 runs.

Max Volk 1-3, 2 walks and scored 2 runs.

Nash Wendling 1-4, 1 RBI and 2 walks.

Brady Sager 1-4, 1 walk and scored 2 runs.

With the win the Indians improve to 10-1-1 and 6-0 in the MMAC.
