The Chesaning Varsity Baseball team traveled to Corunna on Wednesday and lost game 1 to the Cavaliers 7-1. Chesaning jumped out early scoring their lone run of the game in the 1st inning. Lucas Powell led the game off with a single, advanced to 2nd base when he tagged up on a fly ball hit by Nash Wendling and Powell then scored when Tyler Sager hit a line drive single to left field. Corunna then scored a run in the bottom of the 3rd inning to tie the score at 1-1. The score remained tied at 1 until the bottom of the 5th inning when Corunna scored 3 runs to make the score 4-1. The Cavaliers added 3 more runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to make the final score 7-1. Lucas Powell started on the mound and took the loss for the Indians. Powell went 4 innings and gave up 2 hits, 3 earned runs, 2 walks and struck out 2. Logan Fulk came in and pitched 2 innings giving up 6 hits, 4 unearned runs and struck out 2 batters.
