Chesaning faced MMAC foe Montrose on Monday, May 16 and came away with a 16-0 win in game 1. Tyler Sager took the mound for the Indians and pitched the 3 inning mercy rule game. Sager threw his 5th consecutive game without allowing a hit. Sager was perfect in the game facing 9 batters, striking out 8 and allowed 0 hits and 0 walks. With the win Sager’s record improves to 7-0. The Indians jumped out front in the bottom of the 1st inning when Brady Sager singled to center field, scoring Nash Wendling and Tyler Sager. Eli Escamilla then scored, to make the score 3-0, when Logan Fulk hit into a fielder’s choice. The Indians added 2 more runs in the 2nd inning when Max Volk doubled to deep left center field and scored when Wendling hit a double of his own. Wendling then scored when Tyler Sager singled to center field making the score 5-0 in favor of Chesaning. The Indians then plated 11 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Lucas Rumisek ended the game by smashing a 2-run Home Run over the left field fence.
