The Chesaning Varsity Baseball team traveled to Caro on Wednesday, April 12 and took game 1 from the Tigers 14-4. Lucas Powell started on the mound for the Indians and pitched a complete  5 inning mercy rule game. In the 5 innings, Powell allowed 6 hits, 4 runs, 2 walks and struck out 9 batters in his first outing of the season. With the win Powell’s record moved to 1-0 on the season. Chesaning scored in 4 of the 5 innings including 2 in the 1st, 4 in the 2nd, 3rd and 5th innings. Two highlights of the game were a 2nd inning solo homerun by Lucas Rumisek and a 3-run homerun by Nash Wendling in the 3rd inning.

Leading the way offensively for the Indians were:

Brady Sager 4-4, 1 RBI and scored 4 runs

Nash Wendling 3-3, 6 RBI and scored 2 runs

Lucas Powell 2-3, 2 RBI and scored 1 run

Lucas Rumisek 2-4, 3 RBI and scored 1 run

Max Volk 1-4 and 1 RBI

Logan Fulk 1-2 and scored 1 run

Adam Woodcock 1-2, 2 walks, 1 RBI and scored 2 runs

With the win Chesaning’s overall record improves to 3-0 and 2-0 in the MMAC
