The Chesaning Varsity Baseball team completed the sweep of Durand winning game 2 by a score of 5-1. The Indians got on the scoreboard first by scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. Lucas Powell led the inning off with a double and then stole 3rd base. Brady Sager followed Powell by reaching 1st base with a walk. Powell then scored and Sager advanced to 2nd on a wild pitch. Sager then made the score 2-0 when he scored on a line drive single to right field by Eli Escamill. The score remained 2-0 until the top of the 5th inning when Durand  cut the lead to 2-1 by scoring a run on a 2 out error by Chesaning. Chesaning came right back with a run in the bottom of the 5th inning when Powell reached base again with a lead off walk. Powell then made his way to 3rd base and scored when Nash Wendling grounded out to the first baseman to make the score 3-1. Chesaning then added to their lead in the bottom of the 6th inning scoring 2 runs. With 2 outs in the inning Blain Butcher was hit by a pitch and Eli Keck followed that with a walk. Butcher and Keck each moved up a base on a double steal. Adam Woodcock then hit a hard ground ball single to score Butcher. The shortstop made a great play to keep the ball in the infield, but he tried to make a throw to 1st base and threw the ball away to allow Keck to score as well. The 2 runs increased the Indian to the final score of 5-1.

Brady Sager had a great night on the mound for the Indians going 6 2/3 innings while allowing only 2 hits, 2 walks, 1 unearned run and struck out 11 batters. The victory improves Sager's record to 5-1 for the season.

Brady Sager 1-2, 1 walk and scored 1 run

Blain Butcher 1-2 and scored 1 run

Eli Escamilla 1-3 and 1 RBI

Adam Woodcock 1-3 and 1 RBI

With the win Chesaning improves to 16-2 overall and 10-0 in the MMAC.
