Chesaning Boys Cross-Country had an impressive team performance to capture the first MMAC Jamboree of the season, scoring a low of 26 points ahead of 2nd place finisher New Lothrop who had 42 points. 5 of the 7 Chesaning runners set new season best performances in the meet. Levi Maier took first place position by running a smart race, coming in with an impressive 17:18 finishing time. Corbin Walker, Mason Struck, and Jaden James truly worked as a team to help seal the overall win, pushing each other to take 4th, 6th, and 7th place finishes. Mason Struck (19:12) led the trio for the first 2 miles which helped establish the pace and allowed for himself, Corbin Walker (19:09) and Jaden James (19:13) to set new season best performances while establishing 4 Chesaning runners in the top 7 overall. Senior Dakota Sutter was close behind, finishing in the top 14 with an 11th place finish in 19:44. Caleb Walker continued his trend of improving his season best time by taking 17th place in 20:27, followed by Aiden Trizl’s new PR of 27:30 for 57th place. Chesaning has meets in Birch Run (10/5) and Saginaw (10/9) before the final MMAC meet hosted by Ovid-Elsie on October 12th.
