Chesaning JV Football loses to Durand 22-28

The Chesaning JV Football team lost to Durand 22-28 on Thursday, September 9. The Indians scored first in the 1st quarter when Brady Sager connected with Adam Woodcock for a 19 yard TD pass. Sager's PAT was blocked making the score 6-0. Durand then recovered a fumble and returned it 25 yards for a TD and added a 2 point conversion to make the score 8-6 Durand. Durand also scored the next TD, this time on an interception returned for a touchdown and once again added the 2 point conversion to make the score 16-6. Chesaning answered before the half with Sager finding the endzone on a 5 yard run and Sager converted the 2 point conversion run as well, to make the score at the half 16-14 in favor of Durand. Early in the 4th quarter Durand added another score on a touchdown run. However, this time they were denied the 2 point conversion and the score was 22-14. Chesaning answered on a 1 yard TD run by Sager and Marvin Motley added the 2 point conversion to tie the score at 22-22. Unfortunately Durand scored the winning touchdown late to make the final score 28-22 in favor of Durand.
Leading the way for Chesaning offensively was:
Brady Sager 5-10 passing for 44 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. Sager also had 61 yards rushing on 10 carries, 2 touchdowns and one 2 point conversion.
Cal Frasier had 4 rushes for 30 yards.
Marvin Motley had 7 rushes for 20 yards and one 2 point conversion. Motley also had 1 kick return for 15 yards.
Adam Woodcock had 2 rushes for 15 yards. Woodcock also had 3 catches for 31 yards and 1 touchdown and 1 kick return for 36 yards.
Jordan Nixon had 3 catches for 20 yards.
Max Volk was 1-1 passing for 7 yards.
Quinton Everett had 2 kick returns for 24 yards.
Leading the way defensively for the Indians were:
Keighan Stoddard with 15 tackles.
Jordan Nixon with 12 tackles and an interception.
Adam Woodcock and Max Volk with 9 tackles each.
Brady Sager with 8 tackles.
Dakota Obuchowski and Marvin Motley both with 7 tackles.
Braydn Wendling and Cal Frasier with each having 6 tackles.
Michael Clover and Ethan Hinojosa with 3 tackles a piece.
Ryan Swartz and Ron Cross both with 2 tackles.
With the loss the Indians record falls to 2-1. Next game is home on Thursday, September 16 vs. Montrose.
