On Wednesday, your Chesaning Indians traveled to Portland to take on the Red Raiders. The Indians overcame four turnovers and scored three total touchdowns to win 18-13 and move to 1-0 on the season. This game was truly a team effort win as on the offensive end, Logan Vogelarr threw two touchdowns, one to sophomore Danny Tjernia and another to sophomore Brayden Dilts which ultimately gave the Indians the lead. Griffin Sulen also had a touchdown on the ground attack in the second quarter. The offensive line in this game allowed no sacks and the running backs led by Damian Obuchowski fought hard and wouldn’t go down to initial contact. On the receiving end, Will Pierce and Ryder Leibrock chipped in with valuable receptions. Defensively, the Indians defensive line was in the backfield with Colin Brabant, Porter Greenfelder, and Peyton Heise leading the way. On the Raiders final drive, Heise was in the backfield for a tackle for loss on second down and Greenfelder made the game ceiling tackle in the backfield on fourth down. Vogelarr also ran the route for a receiver and came away with an interception in the game. Your Chesaning Indians will travel to Lakeville next week to take on the Falcons and look to advance to 2-0
