MT. MORRIS HIGH SCHOOL: 24
The Lady Indians improved to 6-0 tonight with a 57-24 win over Mt. Morris. The team stands 4-0 in conference play and is tied with Byron for 1st place. In the first quarter the offense stuttered but ended the quarter with a 14-5 lead. In the second quarter the Indians outscored Mt. Morris 12 to 4 going into the half up 26 to 9. In the third the Indians expanded their lead to 30 outscoring the Panthers 15-2 and were leading 41 to 11 to end the third. In the fourth quarter Chesaning out scored Mt. Morris 16-13 to win the game by a final score of 57-24. "We made a lot of mistakes early but finally settled down and played. We had a season high 15 assists tonight which was nice to see. Our schedule gets a lot tougher in the next two weeks and we have a lot of work to do to improve, but tonight was a good step forward. I saw a lot of good things happening and we continue to grow as a team and I am happy to see that!"
