Game Date

Score

OVID-ELSIE HIGH SCHOOL: 55

The Chesaning Indians traveled to league leading Ovid-Elsie Tuesday night.  Our team gave 100% on the court and support from the bench.  We were aggressive on defense and shot the ball really well.  It was our best effort of the season as we shot 43% from the floor.

O-E led 17-5 in the first quarter but we rallied in the second quarter to a 14-12 edge.  We closed the gap to 4 points but then we fell behind at halftime 29-19. The third quarter was another close one with O-E coming out on top 11-10 to take a 40-29 lead into the fourth. The team was able to close the gap to a margin of 7 points before O-E won 55-37. Ovid-Elsie improves to 10-0 and 7-0 in the MMAC, while Chesaning falls to 8-4 and 6-3 in league play.

O-E outscored us at the FT line shooting 11/17 while we were only 3/7.  Caitlyn Walter, from Ovid-Elsie led all scorers with 21 points.

Turnovers were very costly to us as O-E had 28 points off of our miscues. They played excellent defense all night long and were very quick to capitalize when we made a mistake.

I am very proud of how hard we played tonight.  We did not quit and are not satisfied with this performance as we know we can play better in the games to come.  We will take this experience and prepare for New Lothrop, who we play Friday night.
