In game 2 the Indians came out and scored first plating 2 runs in the top of the first and held a 3-1 lead after 3 innings.  But in the bottom of the 4th, the Panther's offense along with defensive miscues by the Indians netted Alma 6 runs to take a 7-3 lead.  Alma plated 2 more runs in both the 5th and 6th innings as Chesaning's defense continued to struggle and Alma won the game 11-3.  Leaders for Chesaning:

Ava Devereaux went 6 innings in the loss giving up 11 runs 7 earned runs on 11 hits 6 strikeouts and 5 walks.

"Offensively we had our opportunities to score some runs, we hit even with Alma on the night 14 hits to 14 hits but the difference in the games were missing out on a couple of hits in the first game and our defense kills us in the second game given up 8 errors.  When your playing good hitting teams you can't give them extra at bats, our pitchers kept Alma's top hitters at bay for most of both games but again you can't give any teams more outs.  Hopefully the girls continue to learn and grow from games like this and understand that if they play their game, good pitching, hitting and defense they have a chance most every night."

Chesaning sits at 10-15 overall and 6-6 in conference play.  The Indians finish up MMAC play as they travel to Montrose on Monday May 24th and finish the regular season on June 1st at home against Carrollton.
