In an exciting game 2, the Indians plated 2 runs in the bottom of the last inning to win 8-7!  In the bottom of the last inning, Kalyn Trevino worked a walk after an 0-2, Marenda Jones reached on an infield single to put runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs.  Hannah Cooper hit a single to CF to score the Pinch Runner Autumn Mahoney from 2nd with Jones and Cooper advancing a base on the throw home.  After Hailey Rolfe was intentionally walked to load the bases, Ellie DuRussel reached on a fielders choice as the throw home was too late to get Marenda Jones for the 8-7 win by the Indians.  Leaders for the Indians in game 2:

"After we let the game get away from us in game 1, we came back in game 2 and played a much better game overall.  Game 2 was a back and forth game and was really exciting to watch.  I was very proud of the girls and how they came back in that last inning to pull out the win.  Trevino getting that walk to start the inning after being down 0-2 was huge and that seemed to really get the team going and it just felt like we were going to win the game!  Hopefully the girls realize that they can be a good team and getting this first win will help with their confidence going forward."

With the win the Indians stand at 1-9 overall and 0-4 in conference play.  Chesaning travels to Durand for conference play on Monday and host Birch Run on Thursday.
