The Chesaning bats woke up in game 2 for a 15-4 defeat of the Panthers.  Abbey VanHaaren was the offensive leader in game 2, VanHaaren collect 4 hits (2-2B) scored 2 runs and knocked in 4.  Other leaders in game 2 were:

Marenda Jones 3 hits 3 runs an RBI

Hailey Rolfe 3 hits 2 runs an RBI

Charley Mahan 2 hits 2 runs an RBI

Hannah Cooper, Ellie DuRussel & Abby Meder each had a hit scored 2 runs with an RBI

Bryn and Autumn Mahoney each had a hit and an RBI

Mahan recorded her first varsity win in the circle going 5 innings giving up 4 earned runs on 6 hits with 5 strikeouts and 3 walks.

"The score in the first game tonight I don't think was a representation of how we played over all.  The score was 2-0 Birch Run going into the 4th inning and we had a few miscues, mental mistakes and our pitching fell apart leading to that big 10 run inning which was the difference in the game.  However, we came out as a different team in game 2 with everyone in the lineup collecting a hit and Mahan in the circle holding them to 6 hits collecting her first varsity pitching win!  I will say on thing, our team has had a very short memory all season.  If we struggle in game 1 we usually have a much better game 2.  We are showing some good progress right now, hopefully we can build on that and finish the season strong!"

Chesaning sits at 3-11 overall and 1-5 in MMAC play.  The Indians travel to Mt Morris on Monday and Corunna on Wednesday.
