The Black team took the court for their first home game of the season against Durand Middle School. Chesaning got their first taste of victory with the Black team beating Durand 3-0 in the first match with game scores of 25-23, 26-24, and 25-23. Big scorers for the night were Avarie Emmendorfer-Thomas and Jordyn Butcher from the serving line, along with Alyce’a Stilson and Taylor Maier putting up points for CMS.
Next, the Orange team started their match against Durand. The Orange team seemed to have a harder time with returning some serves from Durand and communicating on the court. The Orange team lost the match with set scores of 15-25, 20-25, and 19-25. Audrey Gilman and Brianna Olgine put up a few ace serves for the Indians. Paige Swartz threw her heart and body into the game with amazing hustle for every point along with some wicked serves to ace Durand.
