Monday night, Chesaning Middle School Volleyball traveled to Byron for two matches.  In the first one, the “Black” team lost with scores of 21-25, 20-25, & 12-25. Leading the team was Brianna Rodriguez with 7 points  followed by Mackenzie Geitman with 5. Paige Thiel had 3 ace serves while both Layla Pritchett and Layla Watson had 2 points. Following up in points was Independence Basney, Brianna Fernandez, Emely Serrano-Rojas, and Sienna Vasquez-Vela with one point each.

Serrano-Rojas, Malorie Theile, and Thiel each had a kill on the net from Livia Debusschere's and Geitman's one assist apiece.

In the second match, the “Orange” team won an exciting game with scores of 22-25, 27-25, & 25-10. Scoring machines for the team were Lily Shackelford and Ryan Timmerman with 10 points each; 7 aces. Close behind them, and scoring the 2 winning points of the second set, was Jaina Erickson with 8 points; 5 aces.  Josalee Weisenberger came off from an injured knee to score 5 points for the team while Makayla Meyer had 3. Both Rylee Neri and Braelyn Rogers scored 2 points and Maeve Gross, Brielle Lanczynski, Avery Morse, and Harper Turnwald had one point each.

At the net, it was a flurry of kills. Meyer had 3 and Gross, Shackelford, and Timmerman had 2 each. Assisting those hits were Timmerman with 6 assists and Meyer with one. 

The Lady Indians have the holiday weekend off and resume action in Durand on Monday, December 2 at 5:30.
