Chesaning's dominant pitching continued in the second game of the day, as they blanked New Lothrop's 8th grade squad 10-0.
Brady Sager was in full control, throwing 19 strikes out of 23 pitches. Sager struck out all 6 batters he faced in 2 innings on the mound.
Eli Keck made his first appearance on the mound this season. Keck struck out 3 Hornets, giving up 2 hits and walking one batter in 2 innings to finish the shut out.
Adam Woodcock, Max Volk and Brayden Florian all went 2 for 2 leading the Indians offense. Woodcock tripled and singled, scoring twice and driving in a run. Volk scored twice and had an RBI on 2 singles. Florian drove in 2 runs, scoring once on a double, single and stolen base.
Sager helped his cause at the plate, scoring twice with a double, RBI and 2 stolen bases. Luke Barta drove in a run with a single, scoring and swiping a base. Sterling Tomac walked, stole a base and scored. Quinton Everett reached base on a Hornets error, then stole a base and scored.
The Indians played well defensively, committing no errors with Barta catching a New Lothrop runner attempting to steal 3rd base in the final inning. Chesaning's Middle School team improved to 8-0 this season.
