The thrilling nightcap of Chesaning's doubleheader at Durand had something for everyone.  Both team's starting pitchers had complete game 2 hitters with double digit strikeouts.  Both teams caught would be base stealers and there were some late inning pinch hit heroics.

     Brady Sager won the pitchers duel, giving up 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 12 batters and issuing no walks in 5 innings.  Durand's pitcher struck out 10 Chesaning batters while only walking 2 batters and giving up 2 hits.  Durand scored their only run of the game in the bottom of the 1st inning. 

     Eli Keck was hit by a pitch in the top of the second, stole second and was driven in when Luke Barta reached first on a Durand error.  Barta would steal second before the inning ended.  Sager reached base on an error and stole second in the top of the 3rd but wasn't able to cross the plate as the tie game continued.  Keck walked in the top of the 4th but was later caught stealing second to end the Indian threat.

     Adam Woodcock pinch hit in the tie game as the first batter of the 5th inning.  Both teams held their breath as Woodcock drove the 1st pitch deep but foul.  Woodcock came in clutch two pitches later as he sent  the ball bouncing to the fence over the center fielder's head.  Woodcock then raced around the bases and scored an in the park homerun. 

     Sager and the Chesaning defense then secured the win by stranding a Durand lead off single in the bottom of the 5th.  CMS improves to 10-1-1 on the season.   CMS concludes their season at home on Friday versus Byron.
