Congratulations our to our Chesaning High School’s Wrestlers that competed in state finals this past weekend.
Quinton Everett finished his wrestling season by placing 3rd place in the 106 pound weight class of the Division 3 MHSAA Individual Tournament.
Both Keyra Garcia & Krysta Luce competed in the Girls MHSAA Wrestling State Finals this same weekend, yet did not place.

Chesaning's Quinton Everett (106) wrestled in Belding last Saturday for the D3 Regionals. He placed 1st to earn a spot to compete in the D3 MHSAA Wrestling State Finals March 3-4th.
Sunday in Hartland, Keyra Garcia, Krysta Luce and Paige Wissinger, competed in the Girls Regionals. Both Keyra (115) and Krysta (140) qualified to the Girls MHSAA Wrestling State Finals the same weekend.

Saturday, the Boys High School Wrestling team traveled to Freeland for the MHSAA Individual Wrestling Districts.
Gage Stam, Lane Miller, Hayden Salazar, Dakota Obuchowski and Vito Maniaci made it to the consolation, aka “blood round”. Blood Round, a name fitting for the intensity of the matches it describes. All gave it their all, but fell short for the win.
Quinton Everett placed 1st and earned his ticket to the MHSAA Individual Districts held in Belding this upcoming Saturday.
Our Lady wrestlers, Keyra Garcia, Paige Wissinger, and Krysta Luce will also compete in the All-Girls Wrestling Regionals this Sunday in Hartland.
The top four wrestlers in each weight class at Regionals, will continue their journey to the Wrestling State Finals at Ford Field March 3-5th.

MHSAA Wrestling Districts were home last night.
It was a tie to the end - Chesaning 39 vs Ovid Elsie 39. When a tie occurs in wrestling, it comes down to criteria. CRITERIA --- who had the most WINS.. we both had 7. Then it comes to tech - both with 1. Following is which team had the most PINS. Chesaning 5, Ovid Elsie 6. OE wins by 1 pt.
Team Wrestling becomes a chess game, moving kids around and up a weight class in an attempt to win. 85% of our wrestlers went up a weight class, giving up 10-15+ lbs on their opponent, so hats off on a well fought battle. #INDIANPROUD

The Chesaning HS wrestling team traveled to Lakeville Friday night for the MMAC league finals. They placed 6th, with top placers: Dakota Obuchowski 127# 4th place Alec Fowler 157# 3rd place Vito Maniaci 165# MMAC runner-up Lane Miller 175# MMAC runner-up Quinton Everett 106# MMAC Champion.
