A Big Win for Chesaning Varsity Swimming vs. Ovid-Elsie

Chesaning Varsity Swim brought home the win against Ovid-Elsie. 151-112 Two-sday was a great day for Chesaning. 2-22-2022 was a day that brought together 2 teams. Each team has a roster of athletes that show kindness and integrity on the pool deck and great sportsmanship and speed in the water. Ovid-Elsie began the meet celebrating senior night. Chesaning's senior, Gwen Lapine, had a fantastic meet taking first in the 500 yard freestyle, 100 yard backstroke and a member of the 400 yard freestyle relay. Gwen had a great season!

Chesaning Indians 74 vs Ogemaw Falcons 99

The Chesaning Indians traveled to Ogemaw to be out touched by the Falcons. Chesaning place second in 7 of the 11 events. Sophie Grover won first in the 200 yard Individual Medley. Gwen Lapine won first in the 500 yard freestyle. Levi Maier won first in the 100 yard breaststroke. Chesaning also won first in the 400 yard freestyle relay with the team of Chalco, Walker, Lapine, and Maier.
A highlight of the night was 2 new PR's by Caleb Chalco in the 200 yard freestyle and the 100 yard butterfly. Arianna Barancik also had a PR in the 200 IM.
Chesaning is gearing up for the final few weeks of the season. Go Indians!
Chesaning 73 vs Owosso 94

The Chesaning swimmers fell short on points when swimming against Owosso but their speed did not go unnoticed. Our team is small in numbers but our speed is record breaking. Chesaning won 6 of the 11 events this evening. Sophie Grover won first in the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 yard Butterfly. Gwen Lapine won first in the 500 yard Freestyle and the 100 yard Backstroke. Levi Maier won first in the 100 yard breaststroke and took second in the 100 yard Freestyle. Chesaning also won first in the 200 yard Medley relay with the team of Lapine, Maier, Grover and Walker.
Gwen Lapine broke another record this evening as she celebrated senior night. Gwen broke the girls 500 yard Freestyle record that she made in 2019.
The following swimmers swam new personal records.

Corbin Walker in the 50 Free and 100 Free
Cohen Distelrath in the 50 Free and 100 Free
Julia Warby in the 100 Backstroke

Final score tonight, Chesaning 99 vs. Standish 38. Chesaning won 8 of the 11 events. The lady Indians came in strong with 5 first in individual events.
Gwen Lapine won first in the 500 yard freestyle and the 100 yard breaststroke.
Sophie Grover won first in the 200 yard individual medley and the 100 yard butterfly.
Jadyn Gengle won first in the 100 yard backstroke. Way to go ladies!
Caleb Chalco placed second in the 200 yard freestyle and Levi Maier placed second in both the 100 yard freestyle and 100 yard breaststroke.
Chesaning won first place in all three relays of the evening.
200 yard Medley the team of Lapine, Maier, Grover and Walker.
200 yard Freestyle Relay the team of Warby, Distelrath, Grover and Chalco.
400 yard freestyle relay the team of Chalco, Walker, Lapine and Maier.
The big win of the night was Gwen Lapine breaking the girl's school record in the 100 yard breaststroke!

The Indians fell short of a team victory against Caro. (85-78) The Indians didn't go down without a fight. Highlights of the meet:
Levi Maier, Corbin Walker and Cohen Distelrath took 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the 100 freestyle.
Walker placed first in the 50 Freestyle.
Gwen Lapine placed first in the 500 Freestyle.
The 400 Freestyle Relay team of Caleb Chalco, Walker, Lapine and Maier finished the night with a strong first place finish.

Chesaning Swim earned third place at the Stephanie Rice Invitational at Ogemaw Heights. The team swam away with 4 new school records.
Gwen Lapine broke the Chesaning girls school record in the 100 yard backstroke placing second and place first in the 500 yard freestyle.
Sophie Grover broke the girls school record in the 100 yard butterfly and placed fourth in the 500 yard freestyle.
The team of Lapine, Maier, Grover and Walker broke the school record in the 200 yard Medley Relay.
The team of Chalco, Walker, Lapine and Maier broke the school record in the 400 yard Freestyle Relay.
Levi Maier placed first in the 100 yard Freestyle and 3rd in the 100 yard breaststroke.
Caleb Chalco took third in the 200 yard Freestyle and 4th in the 100 yard butterfly.
The team of Harris, Grover, Distelrath and Chalco placed second in the 200 Freestyle Relay.
Chesaning Varsity Swim had 13 swimmers with made personal bests. This team is on fire! Go Indians!
