Chesaning defeated New Lothrop in a pitchers duel 2-1 in 8 innings in game 1. Chesaning scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the 1st inning. Brady Sager led the game off with a single, stole second base and advanced to 3rd on a ground ball by Eli Keck. Nash Wendling then drove Sager in with a single to center field. New Lothrop then tied the game 1-1 with a run in the 4th inning. The score remained tied until the bottom of the 8th inning. Adam Woodcock led the inning off with a single and Sager followed with another single. Max Volk was then intentionally walked to load the bases. Woodcock then scored the winning run on a passed ball to make the final score 2-1. Sager won the pitcher's duel by throwing a complete game and allowing 4 hits while striking out 17 Hornet batters. With the win Sager improves to 3-1 on the season.
