Chesaning defeated Lakeville 1-0 in game 2 behind a 1 hitter by Nash Wendling. The Indians scored the lone run in the game in the top of the 4th inning. WIth 1 out Blain Butcher was hit by a pitch to put him on 1st base. Nate Ferry then laid down a perfect bunt and beat out the throw for a single. Butcher was then able to advance to 3rd base when the base was left unoccupied by the 3rd baseman trying to make the play on the bunt. Adam Woodcock then drove in Butcher when he hit a deep fly ball off the left field fence. Wendling’s pitching and the team’s great defensive play closed the game out for a 1-0 victory for the Indians. Wendling improved his record to 3-0 on the season with his 1 hit gem. Wendling pitched all 7 innings and gave up 1 hit, 1 walk and struck out 7 batters on his way to the victory.
