Chesaning Varsity Golf Finish 6th at Frankenmuth Eagle Invite

The Chesaning Indian Boys Varsity Golf Team traveled to The Fortress in Frankemuth on Friday, April 25 to compete in the Frankenmuth Eagle Invitational.  The Indians finished 6th overall out of 20 participating schools.  The team's final score was 328, tying Millington for lowest amongst Division 3 schools.  Leading the Indians was sophomore Luke Skaryd with a 76, earning him 8th place in the 100 golfer field.  Skaryd began his round 5-over par through his first 6 holes played, but finished strong by playing his remaining 12 holes in 2-under par.  His 2-under par stretch included birdies on holes 1, 6, and 18.  Charlie Clover finished with a solid round of 79, earning him 21st place individually.  Charlie's round was highlighted by back-to-back birdies on holes 4 and 5.  He nearly earned three straight birdies, but missed a short putt on hole 6 and made a par.  Also scoring for the Indians were Justin Lange with an 86, Will Pierce carded an 87, and Quinton Everett finished with a 91.  With the strong finish at the Frankenmuth Eagle Invitational, the Chesaning Indian Boys Varsity Golf Team moved up to 7th in the Division 3 Michigan Interscholastic Golf Coaches Association poll.  Ranking ahead of the Indians are Jackson Lumen Christi, Traverse City St. Francis, Ann Arbor Greenhills, NorthPointe Chrsitian, Kalamazoo Christian, and Grosse Ile.
