Chesaning Boys Varsity Golf 1st at Ovid-Elsie Marauder Cup

The Chesaning boy's varsity golf team traveled to The Emerald in St. Johns to participate in a unique event hosted by Ovid-Elsie on Monday, May 12. The tournament format featured a 4-player and 1-coach team scramble. Competing for the Indians were Justin Lange, Quinton Everett, Charlie Clover, Luke Skaryd, and Coach Ryan Hoerner. The team finished tied for 1st place alongside Millington with an overall score of 57. The 15-under par round turned in a front nine score of 30 and back nine score of 27. The Indians made 13 birdies on the day, including a stretch of eight straight on holes 9 through 16. Their lone eagle came on the par-5 hole 17. Finishing tied for 3rd were Saginaw Nouvel Catholic Central, Ypsilanti Lincoln, and Milan.
