Chesaning JV Indians pulled out a close 31-27 victory over visiting New Lothrop in a defensive contest Thursday. We had a nice 15 point (24-9) lead at half-time, but it dwindled in the fourth as New Lothrop kept up the defensive intensity and shot 5 for 8 from the free-throw line to chip away at the lead until we held just a 5 point (30-25)  point lead with 25 seconds remaining. We missed some good, high percentage shots around the rim tonight that we usually make, so were fortunate to get the win. Keighan Stoddard was the leading scorer for the Indians with 8 points. Gavin Birchmeier and Max Volk led the team with 5 rebounds each, while Conner Qualls led the team with 4 assists and 4 deflections.

New Lothrop's leading scorers were Kaven Unangst with 10 points and August Birkmeier with 6 points.
