On Wednesday evening, the Chesaning Indians hosted their first swim meet of the season.  The Indians took home the win against Ogemaw Heights.  113 vs 53.  Chesaning placed first in 10 of the 11 events.  The winter swim season started much later than normal but the team has successfully put new safety protocol in place in order to keep our athletes safe.   The athletes have shown that they have what it takes to practice safely and have already put hours of hard practice in at the pool to achieve the times they had tonight. 

The night began with a relay team of Lapine, Liebrock, Lewis, Maier taking first in the 200 Yard Medley Relay with the time of 2:04.22.  Drew Beckman placed first in the 200 Yard Freestyle (2:09.25) and Caleb Chalco in third (2:28.03).  Chesaning took first and second in the 200 Individual Medley with Gwen Lapine (2:41.81) and Sophie Grover (2:41.87).  Kaden Liebrock placed first in the 50 Yard Freestyle (25.32) followed by Corbin Walker taking second (29.12).  Chesaning took first and second in the 100 Yard Butterfly with Karlie Lewis in first (1:15.28) and Grover in second (1:18.79).  Chalco placed second in the 100 Yard Freestyle (1:02.93) followed by Walker in third (1:08.28).  Beckman took first in the 500 Yard Freestyle (6:00.21) and Maier taking second (7:09.75).  The team of Beckman, Lewis, Grover, and Liebrock placed first in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay (1:54.03).  In the 100 Yard Backstroke, Chesaning had Lapine placed first (1:10.25) and Maier in third (1:22.60).  Liebrock placed first in the 100 Yard Breaststroke (1:16.85), Kate Lewis in second (1:26.25) and Emilee Harris in fourth (1:29.97).  To end the night Chesaning took the win with a first and second place finish in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay.  First place was the team of Lapine, Chalco, Grover, Beckman (4:15.03) and second place with the team of Maier, Walker, Harris, and Karlie Lewis (4:47.16)
