Sophomore Levi Maier will be competing at the MHSAA State Championship meet @ the Michigan International Speedway on Saturday, November 7th. Maier earned a chance to compete with a strong Sophomore season that saw him lead the Indians in every race over the course of the season. Maier earned a qualifying spot by finishing 12th overall at the Pre-Regional meet and 15th overall at the MHSAA Regional meet, earning ALL-Regional honors along the way.
Maier’s season included 10 races in which he ran sub-18 minutes for the 5K race and setting a new Personal Record of 17:18. His PR represented the fastest finishing time for a Chesaning runner since 2013, and the best Sophomore finish since 2009. Maier becomes the first Chesaning boy since 2015 to earn a spot at the MHSAA State Championship.
