Chesaning Baseball hosted St. Charles in a MHSAA Pre-District game and came away victorious 15-0 in 3 innings. The Indians batted first in the game and jumped out to an ealry lead. Lucas Powell hit the first pitch of the game up the middle and reached on a single and then advanced to third base on a throwing error on the play. One pitch later Powell scored on a passed ball. Nash Wendling and Tyler Sager followed with singles putting runners at first and second base. After an out Brady Sager then tripled to left field and scored Wendling and Tyler Sager to make the score 3-0. Brady Sager then scored on a passed ball 4 pitches later. After the second out of the inning, Max Volk and Dylan James both were walked. Both Volk and James then stole third and second base respectively. They both then scored on a throwing error on an attempted pick off. After the top of the first inning the Indians led 6-0. St. Charles then went quietly in the bottom half of the inning and the Indians were looking to put more runs on the scoreboard. Powell led off the top of the second inning driving a double to left field and Wendling followed that with a walk. Tyler Sager then cleared the bases hitting a 3-run home run to left field and increasing the lead to 9-0. Eli Escamilla then singled to left field and made his way to third base on a passed ball. Escamilla then scored on an error by the pitcher on an attempted pick off move. After the top of the second inning Chesaning led 10-0. In the bottom half of the second inning the Bulldogs went 1-2-3. Adam Woodcockthen led off the third inning with a walk. Woodcock then scored when Wendling doubled to right field. Tyler Sager then walked and Brady Sager followed that with a walk. Wendling then scored on another passed ball to increase the lead to 12-0. Keighan Stoddard then singled to left field to drive in Tyler Sager and Brady Sager advanced to third on the hit. Brady Sager then scored on a passed ball. Stoddard was then driven in when Volk singled to left field to make the score 15-0. St. Charles then went quietly in the bottom of the thrid inning to end the game with a final score of 15-0. Tyler Sager started the game for Chesaning and pitched 2 innings and allowed 2 hits and struck out 6 batters. With the win Sager improved his record to 10-0 on the season. Logan Fulk came in and pitched the final inning and allowed no hits and struck out 3 batters.

With the win, Chesaning improves to 27-3-1 on the season. The Indians now advance to play Montrose at Chesaning on Saturday, June 4 at 10:00 AM in a District Semi-Final. The winner of that game will then play the winner of New Lothrop/Hemlock at roughly 3:30 PM.
