On Wednesday, January 17, Chesaning Middle School volleyball teams traveled to Montrose to begin their winter season. In the first match of the night, the orange team fought hard, but lost with scores of 16-25, 25-17, & 23-25. Leading scorers for Chesaning were both Alonna Schack and Brooke Springer with 9 points each. Kaydence Haney and Bella James each had 5 points while Riley Sedlar scored 4. Rounding out the scoring was Keyra James with 3 points, Hope Boyd with 2, and both Rosalie Rahmann and Malayla Sumbera with one.  At the net, Haney had an assist to Keyra James's kill.

In the second match of the night, the black team lost all three sets with scores of 21-25, 18-25, & 12-25. Leading all scorers was Whitney James with 10 points. Kaylin Dempsey scored 4 and both Ruby Gross and Leigha Schneider earned 3. To complete the serving for the night, Juliana Rodriguez scored 2 points, and both Lexie Fisher and Emylia Kukulis scored one.  At the net, Fisher and Schneider both earned one assist each while Chloe Tithof had 2 kills and both Izzy Therrien and Rodriguez had one each.
