Chesaning Indians JV Takes Early Lead In Victory Over Mt. Morris  The Chesaning Indians JV squad jumped out to an early lead over Mt. Morris JV and took home a 17-6 victory on Tuesday. Chesaning  scored on a double by Zach Garno, a single by Banks Deal, and a single by Braydn Wendling in the first inning. Chesaning earned the victory despite allowing Mt. Morris to score four runs in the first inning.  The Indians tallied six runs in the second inning. Garno, Deal, Wendling, Quinton Everett, and Eli Keck powered the big inning with RBIs. Deal earned the victory on the hill for Chesaning  He allowed four hits and six runs over five innings, striking out seven. Chesaning tallied 13 hits in the game. Garno, Deal, Luke Barta, and Wendling all had multiple hits for the tribe. Deal and Garno each collected three hits to lead Chesaning. Garno led Chesaning JV with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with ten stolen bases.

Two Pitchers Work Together As The Chesaning Indians JV squad Shuts Out Mt. Morris Chesaning defeated Mt. Morris 14-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout in the second game of the double header. Chesaning JV secured the victory thanks to nine runs in the second inning. Chesaning JV's offense in the inning came from doubles by Blain Butcher, Banks Deal, and Ethan Hinojosa, a walk by Luke Barta, and a single by Eli Keck. In the first inning, Chesaning JV got their offense started when Brayden Florian tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Chesaning JV scored nine runs in the second inning. The big inning was thanks to doubles by Butcher, Banks, and Hinojosa, a walk by Barta, and a single by Keck. Banks Deal earned his second win of the night for Chesaning .  He allowed two hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out two. Barta threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. He allowed zero runs on 3 hits, 1 walk while striking out 2.  Chesaning JV racked up nine hits on the day. Florian, Keck, Butcher, and Hinojosa each collected multiple hits for Chesaning JV. Hinojosa, Butcher, Keck, and Florian each collected two hits to lead Chesaning JV. Chesaning JV tore up the base paths, as five players stole at least two bases. Zach Garno led the way with three. Keck also had a great game behind the plate picking off 2 stolen base attempts.  Garno also had a great throw from LF throwing Mt. Morris out at home.

The Chesaning Indians JV Defeats Byron despite allowing 4-Runs in the first inning. Chesaning stole the lead late in the game in a 9-4 victory over Byron on Monday. The game was tied at four with Chesaning JV batting in the top of the third when Braydn Wendling drew a walk, scoring the winning run. Ethan Hinojosa earned the win for Chesaning JV. The sophomore went four innings, allowing four runs on two hits and striking out eight. Luke Barta, Hinojosa, Blake Laskowski, Blain Butcher, Brayden Florian, and Jaxon Plowman all had hits in the game.  Eli Keck led the Chesaning Tribe going 2-3.

Late scoring costs the Chesaning Indians as they lose to Byron in the second game of the double header. In the top of the first Chesaning scored 1 run, but left the bases loaded.   Byron took the lead in thebottom of first inning scoring 2. Chesaning JV tallied three runs in the second inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Blake Laskowski and a double by Brayden Florian.   It was a tough loss because the Chesaning bats just went cold.  We couldn’t string enough hits together to bring enough runners across the plate in the middle innings of the game.  Luke Barta led Chesaning with two hits in four at bats. Chesaning also tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Ethan Hinojosa led the way with five including stealing home on a well-timed steal.  Hinojosa and Blain Butcher also had hits in the game. 

The Chesaning Indians JV Baseball Drops the First game in the double header to the Birch Run Panthers after Birch Run has a late game rally. Luke Barta drew a walk in the first inning.  Blake Laskowski, grounded to first, scoring Barta to take an early lead in the game.  Chesaning held the slim lead until Birch Run tied it up in the bottom of the third.  The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the fifth inning.  Then the flood gates opened up and Birch Run scored 5. Chesaning was able to get another run across in the top of the 6th, but it was not enough to push the game further.  Dylan James took the Loss for Chesaning, pitching 5 innins, allowing five hits and striking out 6.  James, Eli Keck, and Brayden Florian all had hits in the game.

Chesaning JV Bounces back in the second game of the Thursday double header, defeating the Birch Run Panthers 16-5. Birch run got on the board first scoring 1 run in the top of the first inning.  Chesaning answered the bell in the bottom of the first tying the game at 1. Chesaning JV pulled away for good with eight runs in the second inning. In the second Dylan James singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Blake Laskowski singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Florian's sac fly scored one run for Chesaning , an error scored one run, and Ethan Hinojosa lined out, driving in a run.  Florian also had a double in the top of the forth scoring a run. Hinojosa got the win for Chesaning, going 4 innings allowing five runs, and five hits while striking out 3. Eli Keck came in for relief and pitched 1 inning, striking out the side. Chesaning collected 10 hits in total for the game.  James, and Quinton Everett both had two hits apiece.

Banks Deal throws a 1 hitter as the Chesaning Indians JV squad defeated the Durand Railroaders JV in 3 innings with a score of 15-0.  Deal earned  his first win of the season,  throwing 3 innings, allowing 1 hit, 1 walk, while striking out 7.  The Chesaning offense was hot as they scored 3 runs in the first, 4 in the second, and 8 in the third. Luke Barta led the Indians with 2 hits in the game.  Zach Garno, Blake Laskowski, Blain Butcher, Brayden Florian, Braydn Wendling and Deal all had hits in the game. Garno, Laskowski, Deal, Florian, and Wendling all had 2 RBI’s in the game.

Two Pitchers Work Together In No-Hitter as the Chesaning Indians JV Beats the Durand Railroaders in the second game of the double header. Chesaning got started quick in this one as well, scoring 5 runs in the first inning and 6 runs in the second. Ethan Hinojosa earned the win throwing 3 innings, allowing one run on zero hits striking out seven.  Blain Butcher came in relief and threw one inning walking one and striking out one.  Luke Barta led the Indians with 2 hits in the game.  Zach Garno, Banks Deal, Brayden Florian, Nathan Ruth, and Hinojosa all also had hits in the game.  In the bottom of the 4th inning, with Chesaning up 13 to 1, Jaxon Plowman hit a hard line drive to left-center splitting the Durand outfielders.  The ball rolled to the fence and with his speed, he was able to clear the bases and get a walk off in the park home run.  He led the team with 4 RBI’s.

The Chesaning Indians JV Boys, fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 9-4 loss to Frankenmuth Eagles JV on Thursday. It took a few innings for the Chesaning boys to get the bats going in this game.  Frankenmuth put up 3 runs in the first, 1 in the second, and 2 in the fourth inning.  However, in the bottom of the 4th, the Indians started to settle in, and work the Frankemuth pitcher.  They scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 4th to make it a ball game again. Unfortunately Frankenmuth answered right back scoring 3 in the top of the fifth putting the game out of reach for Chesaning. Banks Deal took the loss for the tribe, allowing 7 hits, and 4 runs over four innings while striking out 4.  Unfortunately, this was compounded by some costly errors in the field that ran his pitch count up, and extended the innings.  Brayden Florian went 2-3 at the plate leading the tribe in hits for the game.  Blake Laskowski, and Ethan Hinojosa also had hits in the game.  Luke Barta, Zach Garno, Eli Keck, Laskowski, and Hinojosa all had RBI’s in the game.

The Chesaning Indians JV squad loses 11-6 against the Frankenmuth Eagles JV boys in the second game of the double-header. Despite the loss, Chesaning JV did collect seven hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Frankenmuth Eagles JV had seven hits on their way to victory. Eli Keck takes his first loss of the season for Chesaning.  He pitched one and two-thirds innings, allowing 5 runs on three hits while striking out one.  Unfortunately his time on the mound was cut short due to arm fatigue.  Blain Butcher went 2-3 at the plate to lead Chesaning in hits.  Blake Laskowski, Brayden Florian, Ethan Hinojosa, Zach Garno, and Keck all had hits in the game.  Keck’s hit was a triple.  Sterling Tomac, and Hinojosa had 1 RBI in the game while Keck had 2.

The Chesaning Indians JV Baseball squad was victorious in their first game of season defeating Ovid-Elsie 8-4.   Chesaning got things started in the first inning when Brayden Florian doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run. Eli Keck pitched all 4 innings of the time shortened game, to record his first victory in his High School debut. Zach Garno, Blake Laskowski, Brayden Florian, and Luke Barta all managed to get hits in the game. Barta led the way with two.

Chesaning Indians JV Baseball took the lead late in the game in a 20-8 victory over Ovid-Elsie in the second game of the Monday double-header. The game was tied at five with Chesaning batting in the top of the third when Ashton Schultz drew a walk, scoring one run. Ethan Hinojosa takes the win in this game.  Pitching 3 innings. Chesaning JV racked up 12 hits. Luke Barta, Brayden Florian, Eli Keck, Blake Laskowski, and Braydn Wendling all managed multiple hits for Chesaning.  The game was ended pre-maturely due to darkness, which created a lopsided situation.  Ovid-Elsie never got their last at bats, and never got the chance to reduce the deficit.
